Race Report
This event had been postponed from April due to planned roadworks that never happened! As a result we only 25 entries this year, and 6 non starters (with apologies) – all starters finished without incident. Conditions were ideal – warm, sunny and with a light NW breeze.
Some excellent times were recorded, and event winner was GB Junior rider Albie Jones of North Cheshire Clarion produced a superb ride of 30m 18 seconds to demolish the Junior course record, and get within 44 seconds of Si Wilson’s senior course record. Runner up was Matt Morris of Giant-Kendal- Sidas-UK with 31m25s – whose time would have won the event last year!

Only 2 females rode this year, with the female title going to Emma Glen of Blackpool Clarion with 41m52s. Runner up was Vicky Hinstridge of Ruthin Cycling Club with 43m10s
The Road Bike award went to Martin Horrobin of Horwich CC with 36m49s (Road Bike course record)
Vet’s Age Adjusted awards were
1st Paul Grindley – Liverpol Century RC – age 62 – AAT 30m51s (1st V60+)
2nd Alex Munro – SVTTA / Southport CC age 92 – AAT 32m 10s (1st V70+)
3rd Mick Black – Springfield Financial RT age 78 – AAT 33m23s (possible NLTTA age record)
