Southport Cycling Club are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred in our community yesterday. Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with everyone affected by this ongoing tragedy. As a mark of respect and in line with other sporting club’s in our area, we have cancelled this Thursday’s 10 Mile Time Trial. The original date for the event in April was cancelled due to Storm Kathleen, but I believe riding in the wind would have been a better option than racing in torrential rain with flooded roads like it was on Saturday.
