Last week’s TT was cancelled due to the start of the Jubilee Bank Holiday, however things were back to normal this week. A blustery wind and continued traffic disruption at Tarleton probably kept numbers (and times) down a bit, however it did result in a very close finish with Mark Parsons of Team ASL Bolton beating James Holloway of Ribble Cycles by a single second – and both riders recording sub 21 minute times. We had 3 Southport riders taking part with Mike Rimmer recording a PB of 24.22 – whilst Rob Rix and Alan Stark weree engaged in their own personal battle of the 74 year olds to beat the 30 minute barrier!
It looks like the works at the Tarleton Lights will continue until mid July, so the scheduled 25 for the end of June will now be a 15 mile event. We wait to see whether the completed works by the new Aldi entrance will compromise the 25 Mile TT course for future events.

Thanks once again to all the volunteer marshals and Timekeepers who keep these events running smoothly.
