Southport SCC Newsletter – January 2023

The club has started to use a new membership system from membermojo. The system is used by many cycling clubs, running clubs and other organisations so some of you may be familiar with it already.

It is straight forward to use and includes an application declaration and parental consent form in line with other cycling and sporting clubs and what is required for ourselves as a cycling club. Hopefully this bulletin answers any membership queries. Any feedback you can send to eddie.obrien@hotmail.co.uk It is a work in progress so will be welcomed.

Online is the preferred method of joining Southport Cycling Club as with any other organisation. This can be done from going to the membership page on the club website https://southportcc.co.uk or directly https://membermojo.co.uk/southportcc/
At the first page select Join Us / Renew as your details will not be in the system yet even if you have a MemberMojo account elsewhere.  Do not click the sign up button at the top. Previous member email addresses will not work, you need to sign up as new member for 2023.

Membership options should be self-explanatory on the membership page with the junior option being prompted for parental consent once selected.

This will also require selecting if any juniors are joined as part of family membership. If you joined late in 2022 and have a roll over membership then you will be added to the system manually sometime this month. You will then receive an email with a link for you to complete your details where required and once checked out receive your members email.

Life members will also be added manually and again sent an email to complete membership were applicable or automatically receive their members’ email.

Once joined/paid you will receive an automated membership email with a membership card. If you uploaded an optional photograph then this will be on your membership card. Should you have selected plastic membership card you will still receive the card in the member pack then when the majority of members have renewed their membership plastic cards will be ordered as are only ordered in bulk batches.

These can include emergency contact details as requested previously by members. Example card. (Anybody with the skills or knowledge wanting to design a card will be welcome).

Front and Back:

As with the previous payments options you can select PayPal or Debit/Credit Card as below. If you do NOT have a PayPal account you can still pay in the same way you would on any other site with your credit or debit card. We will look into adding a Stripe account which will facilitate the use of Apple Pay and Google Pay in the future.

Junior membership will not request payment just a checkout at the end of the process. This will be the same for roll over membership or Life should details require updating.
