SCC Club Time Trial Programme 2019. Note the first event of the season will be the ‘Road Bike Challenge’ 10 mile TT. It will be the inaugural event for the new 10 Mile TT course so the winners in each category will establish the course records. (Sen / Female / Junior / Youth. Standard Road bikes only — no TT bikes, no Disc Wheels, No Clip on Tri Bars, no pointy helmets or other aero aids permitted!
New Event HQ for the events will be in the Windgates Business Park at Tarleton lights. There’s parking for about 30-40 vehicles after 6pm. Important Notice — if anyone needs to answer a call of nature, they MUST NOT do so around the parking area. There are suitable hedgerows in nearby lanes or in the blocked off parking area of the derelict restaurant.
New 10 mile course code is D33/10. It is entirely along the A565. It starts at the Lay By approx 250 metres W of Tarleton Lights, and goes via Mere Brow R/A to Banks R/A – encircle Banks R/A – return to Mere Brow R/A then back to Banks R/A, back to Mere Brow, ( you do the Mere Brow – Banks section twice) then straight on to finish approx 100 metres before Blackgate Lane ( end of Dual Carriageway). Apart from the first 1km which is on a dead straight wide single carriageway, the rest of the route is on dual carriageway. The whole route is subject to a 50mph speed limit controlled by average speed cameras. Sight lines and road surface are generally very good, and vastly superior to our old course. The course is virtually pan flat, with a slighly downhill start and finish. There is a Stava segment for it already.
