SATURDAY 8:30 RIDES: MARCH

Below is a list of the planned Saturday Rides for March plus details of the Annual Jubilee Tower Ride, on Friday March 30th (Good Friday). I realise that I’m being optimistic planning a ride for next Saturday….but I always prefer optimism.

MARCH 3rd: RAINFORD RAMBLE -RIDE CANCELLED.

A steady 50 mile ride to Cedar Farm, incorporating a climb over Ashurst (or not, according to the weather). Coffee at Cedar Farm.
Meet club house 8:30, Ainsdale Police Station 8:45.

MARCH 10th: LITTLE TOWN FARMSHOP, LONGRIDGE
This proved to be a popular destination when we first visited in January….so it’s back be popular demand. This is a largely flat route of about 58 miles. Coffee at the Little Town Farm Shop.
Meet club house 8:30, Plough 8:45.

MARCH 17th: RIVINGTON via RED ROCKS
An old favourite. A bumpy 62 mile course involving about 2,600 ft of climbing….with the option of adding a few more feet of climbing for those who wish to ascend to the top of Belmont. Coffee at the Tea Rooms.

MARCH 24th: SASWICK

GOOD FRIDAY, MARCH 30th: ANNUAL JUBILEE TOWER RIDE
A tough, steady ride through the Trough of Bowland. The route includes the climbs of Jubilee Tower, Waddington Fell and includes a stop at the Bill Bradley Memorial. Approximately 110 miles and 5,500 ft of climbing. There will be two cafe stops, first at Scorton then in Waddington Village.
Meet club house 8:30, Plough 8:45.

MARCH 31st: SKULL HOUSE LANE
A lumpy 52 mile ride to finish the month, involving Ashurst and Skull House climbs but mostly flat. Coffee at Cedar.

AND A REMINDER: If you can spare a few hours on either the 17th or the 24th of March to help with the Dolan Races that would be terrific. We have had a positive response so far but we still need a few more.?

Regards

Geoff
