Our master & commander of the Saturday 0830 ride is currently ensconced in Sweden, so he has delegated this Saturday’s ride to me, a poor substitute I know. Anyway, the ride departs club room 08:30, Ainsdale cop shop 08:45, heading east to Simonswood, Rainford, Crawford, Tower Hill & Ashurst Beacon. Café stop at Cedar Farm, usual choice of return routes. The roads around Upholland have been top-dressed with chippings but I recced the route today & it had all been flattened into the tarmac by traffic, only one slightly dodgy corner at Dalton Church when descending from the beacon, so care required.
