My thanks to the club members who gave up their time this year to help out (we could have done with a few more).
59 starters on a beautiful sunny morning making for ideal racing conditions, the pace was fast and furious.
The race was stopped and riders warned about crossing the white line, this was ignored which ultimately resulted in the whole field being disqualified apart from the leading two riders.
The club’s only rider Mike Rimmer gave it his best shot and deserved credit for his effort.
I do wonder if it’s worth the time and effort that goes into organising a road race when we have only one interested rider out of a full field.
On a personal note I’m willing to hand over the role of organiser to anyone who’s willing.
