This Sunday the annual ‘free wheel competition’ takes place at Bleasdale and will see a new champion crowned as Eddie O’Brien who has dominated the competition the last few years unfortunately cannot make it this time round. Therefore if you think you’ve got what it takes be a free wheel champ make sure you get along to one of the meeting points.
The rules are quite simple; start at the top of the hill and roll down and up the other side. The rider who goes the furthest will be the victor. Strictly no pedalling!
Meeting points for the ride out to Bleasdale are 9:15 at the Plough bus stop or 9:30 Blackgate Lane. Lunch will likely be at Cobble Hey or another local cafe before heading back to Southport.
