Additional Saturday Ride from the Club this weekend – April 30th at 8:30

The response to the proposal for introducing an additional Saturday ride, starting at the Clubhouse at 8:30, has been positive so we will start with our first ride this Saturday, April 30th.
The route will go roughly Southport – Aughton -Bickerstaffe – Crank – Orrell – Shevington -Wrightington – Parbold – Ashurst to Church – Westhead – Burscough -Southport.
This is a distance of about 55-60 miles and involves 1950 feet of climbing (or so Mapmyride informs me).

Expect to be back at the clubhouse by 1pm.

PS: There are plans for the traditional (well we’ve done it for the last 2 years at least) ride to Ribchester on Bank Holiday Monday, starting at the Plough at 8:30. This is about a 60 mile ride. There may be an option for some to go on to Sabden, via the Nick o’Pendle, which adds about 20 miles to the ride and involves a hilly loop.
