Destination Rivington, via Standish, Red Rock, and Blackrod.
9.15 Plough / 9.30 Blackgate Lane.
Ride is CANCELLED due to the high probability of icy roads. Weather looks a lot more promising for next weekend, so the suggestion is we do it on the 23rd – Alan may not be out so we may need another ride leader.
Destination – Cobble Hey.
Meet at Plough 9.30 / Blackgate Lane 9.45
Route goes out via Preston Marina, Woodplumpton, Bilsborrow and Claughton then up Butt Hill Lane. Gluttons for hilly punishment can take a longer route to the cafe via Bell Lane and Oakenclough if they wish. Return via Bleasedale, Inglewhite and Broughton then retracing route home from Woodplumpton. about 65-70 miles round trip from the Plough.
As the November ride was cancelled due to the bad weather, a delayed 2015 ride for the 3rd Sunday of the month
The annual November ride through the Mersey tunnel, across the Wirral to the famous Eureka cycle cafe. A run across the Wirral to New Brighton ( maybe an ice cream stop somewhere) and then back through the Tunnel.
Recommended to have lights (at the least a rear light for the trip through the tunnel) as it may well be going dark by the time we are coming home.
See here for a description of the 2014 ride.
Leaving from the Plough at 8:30 a.m. heading to the Trough of Bowland for an all-day social ride this Good Friday. Route will take us to Scorton for morning coffee then into the Trough, climbing Jubilee Tower, The Trough and Waddington. Lunch at Waddington before return home. Trip will be over 100 miles with significant climbing. Intended pace will be around 15mph average, likely return time around 5pm. Please do not attempt this ride unless you are comfortable at 80 miles and 5000ft of climbing.

Expect to be back at the clubhouse by 1pm.
PS: There are plans for the traditional (well we’ve done it for the last 2 years at least) ride to Ribchester on Bank Holiday Monday, starting at the Plough at 8:30. This is about a 60 mile ride. There may be an option for some to go on to Sabden, via the Nick o’Pendle, which adds about 20 miles to the ride and involves a hilly loop.
Thanks,
Geoff
