Ben Gautrey Ride starting at Meols Hall at 8.00.am. Various rides – see the web site for more details
Event Overview
The Ben Gautrey Challenge events are a flat 30km or a more challenging 50km route starting and finishing at Meols Hall. Both anti clockwise routes take in some of the quietest roads in the area which riders of any ability will enjoy.
The shorter 30km route is easily achievable by anybody and will appeal to family groups/less experienced riders for example, and can be punctuated with stop at one of the many pubs on the route.
The 50km route with require more fitness as the longer route and more challenging terrain could catch any total novices out; again there are several pubs, cafes etc which can punctuate the route should you choose. The quiet nature of this area will ensure you can explore the area in peace, giving you the chance to take in the constant changing landscape and enchanting views.
Both rides are quiet routes taking you through the beautiful local countryside that we sometimes take for granted.

NOTE – This event is now full — No entries will be accepted on the line. In aid of the NW Air Ambulance. The last two STR rides have been great days out – and attract mostly club riders more like our old Bill Bradley ride or the Lancashire Lanes as opposed to the big ‘commercial’ sportives. Numbers are limited to 200 – and at the moment it’s about 2/3 full. You can enter online at http://www.lancashirecyclinglink.co.uk/events
