Time Trials – 2014 Season Starts @ Liverpool Old Road
Apr 10 @ 6:15 pm – 9:15 pm

From April to September the club runs a series of time trials on each Thursday. These are based on the ten mile distance with (usually) three twenty five mile distance events on the last Thursday of May, June and July.

For 2014 there will be a points competition with Medals for the winners. details of the rules coming soon. The revised course is shown on the detailed page below – the turn into Doles Lane is eliminated from the course.

Riders will be required to NOT STAND at the finish to eliminate congetion and danger – there will be a “finish position” further along the road where riders can gather.

Rides are open to all comers but under 18’s must have Parental consent.

A couple of important safety notes regarding Start and Finish. Riders warming up and coming south down the main road must not turn right in to Liverpool Old Road (parking area) at the start. Continue to the roundabout and turn there.

After the finish continue to the Doles Lane junction where riders can hand in their numbers and get their times from a marshal. No U turns in the vicinity of the finsh – and do not congregate around the timekeepers.

The Course D10/18

Start opposite the end of 9th complete kerbstone after grid at junction of A59 and old road just north of Carr House Island. Proceed onto A59 in direction of Preston and continue north via Much Hoole and Gill Lane islands to turn at Hutton Island (4.23 miles). Retrace along A59 via Gill Lane and Much Hoole Islands, past the start to Carr House Island (8.55 miles). Left along B5247 for approximately 800 yards then Left again into North Road (B5248). Continue for just less than 1 mile to finish opposite Telegraph Pole 161, 12 yards before
entrance to Nettlefold Nursery (10.00 miles).

The course is shown on the map below. To view the map in more detail click “Map my Ride”. The route can be downloaded as a gpx file from the window which opens. (For a larger map click the arrow icon in the map corner. Try the 3D flyover to see a video of the route)
